Dress: Generally, both men and women wear nice slacks and casual shirt or sweater, though some may enjoy wearing their “Sunday Best”. All are welcome!
Arrival: Enter the front of the church either through the main front white doors or by accessing the handicapped entrance to the left of the stairs. Instructions on using the lift are posted by the inner door. Hold the UP button inside the lift to move to the church foyer.
Sunday School: We meet 9:30 – 10:30 am from Labor Day to the end of June. Currently, we have a middle / high school class in a room on the main floor off the foyer. The adult class meets around tables in the back of the sanctuary. An offering basket is passed around quietly at the start of class. There is no obligation to contribute.
Worship Service: From September to June, worship is 10:45 am – 12:00 noon. During the summer months, we worship 9:30 – 10:45 am. Communion Sundays (typically the 1st Sunday of the month) extend our worship time 15 minutes. We often have a pot-luck meal together after Communion services in our fellowship hall in the lower level of the church. Printed bulletins are available each week at the sanctuary entry doors.
Child Care: We have a self-serve nursery for parents to utilize if they would like, complete with toys, children’s books, changing table, crayons and coloring books. We welcome the sound of children in our worship services too.
About our Worship Service:
Before service starts, soft music is played to prepare us to worship God and take time to settle our hearts and pray silently. After our Welcome & Announcements, our worship service moves in three parts:
Part 1: Worship through Hymns and Spiritual Songs
· Traditional congregational introit
· Call to worship
· Congregation sings a few traditional hymns
Part 2: Worship through God’s Word
· Selected readings from the Old and New Testaments
· The preaching of God’s word grounded in Scripture texts (NOTE: we usually work through a book of the Bible)
· Hymn of faith
Part 3: Worship through Prayer and Giving
· Pray corporately from our monthly prayer list
· Giving of tithes and offerings
· Doxology
After service, we linger in the foyer greeting and meeting fellow parishioners.
